Sober living homes, also known as sober living facilities and sober living residences, are residential settings that offer structured, safe living conditions and supportive living quarters for individuals exiting drug rehabilitation programs. SLHs serve as an intermediate between drug rehab programs and mainstream society, offering the user a way to gradually get back into a routine life. Sober living homes typically consist of individual rooms or units where residents may live independently but still have a support staff that can help residents with basic needs. These programs provide housing, counseling, and sometimes a medical treatment option for those that wish to pursue it. In many cases, SLH residents are given a personalized treatment plan to follow while living in these facilities. Many of the residents of SLHs are able to eventually return home to a normal life, but have been unable to do so through traditional drug addiction treatment programs, and thus find an intermediate program that can help them get back on their feet.

One of the biggest benefits of living at a sober living facility is the support offered by the staff. Most of the staff members of these programs have been through similar situations and have successfully completed drug addiction treatment programs. Many of them offer support groups to the residents, allowing them to feel safe and loved despite their transition into sobriety. The resident’s belongings may also be maintained throughout the residence, which allows them to keep their personal things safe in a safe environment. Residents may also receive a variety of services to help them get through their transition. Some of these services may include individual counseling and social work services. In some cases, residents of SLHs may also be given access to health care and legal services, which may help them avoid relapses.

To learn more about what kinds of services are available at some of the sobered living homes, contact the facility directly. This can provide an opportunity to interact with the staff members and get a better idea of the type of assistance they provide to their residents. If the center is not located close to your area, there may also be organizations that offer services similar to those offered by the center in the form of online and off-site support groups.
