The Crossroads

Phoenix is a city located in the state of Arizona, and was originally a center of mining, agriculture, and the fur trade. The city now has become a major hub for industries and businesses, but the culture still revolves around the old-fashioned lifestyle that characterized this area of the country long ago. Phoenix residents have a number of historic buildings and sites that are a part of their heritage. This heritage includes the Phoenix Memorial Fountain, Old Town Square, Camelback Ranch, the Fourteenth Street Historic District, historic neighborhoods such as the Scottsdale Historical District and Downtown Phoenix, the Arizona Republic Museum, and the historic Valley of the Sun National Parks.

The Crossroads Flower House was constructed in 1855 by Moses Cross and the following year it was named after the place. Since then, the building has been a mainstay in the city and served as a main residence for Phoenix businessmen. Over time, the building was remodeled and expanded, as well as having many modifications made to its architectural style. In 2020, the Arizona Historical Society purchased the Crossroads Flower House from the Crossroads Family Trust.

The Crossroads Youth Center has been providing substance abuse treatment programs for more than thirty years. The center provides both residential and group care. The center’s residential programs are located in two locations: the Valley View Apartments, and the Phoenix Heritage Village. The center serves an outpatient population that includes individuals, couples, families, teenagers, and children in the Phoenix and surrounding areas. The center’s residential treatment programs are designed to meet the needs of individuals seeking drug and alcohol addiction treatment for a variety of issues, including depression, anger, school dropout issues, substance abuse, and life transitions. The center also provides treatment for individuals who are in prison, in correctional facilities, on parole, or currently suffering from serious mental illness.
