More Information about Sober Living in Bloomington Illinois

Bloomington is my home away from home; I have lived in many neighborhoods, but Bloomington has stood out for me. There are so many activities in and around town and some of the places I have frequented our Museum of Contemporary Art, Horseshoe Riverboat and Halfway House. As a twenty-two year Bloomington resident, I can tell you that these are two of the best neighborhoods to live in. Here are some information about sober living in Bloomington. Transitional Living In case you are wondering what this is, it is a residential community designed to provide “homeless” individuals and other ” challenged “traditional” residents with services that will assist them to transition from being homeless to a self-sufficient existence. The term transitional is used due to the fact that these communities take individuals in and out of the various residential neighborhoods. Some are in residential zones, some are in mixed neighborhood settings, and others are in housing villages. The goal is to assist the individual to achieve stability in their new environment, while developing skills and habits to become self sufficient. The goal is to build a community that is safe, healthy, and supportive of their unique needs. It was an extremely inspiring experience to live in a community such as this one. There are countless organizations and support groups, and after one year, my partner and I both found ourselves really thankful for our experience. We were able to purchase a house close to our field of interest, which brought us closer to our surrounding nature. Our children are now very familiar with the boundaries and features of our neighborhood and are constantly involved with picking up our daily items at the small corner store across the street. Bloomington, IL truly offers a wonderful alternative to “mainstream” living.
